How do you remove water stains from wood?
I have a 20 year old log cabin where water leaked in from the roof. The walls are now water stained in areas. The wood is rough sawed poplar. Bleach did not work. Any advise would be greatly appreciated on how we could remove those ugly stains. Thank you! Tate

Try combining toothpaste and mayonnaise…rub it on the spot then wipe clean with a paper towel

Beeswax works like a charm.

ivblatz is correct, keep in mind it will probably take more than 1 bleaching to do the job….put the bleach on let dry and if you still see the disfigurement in the wood try, try again…sometimes it takes 6 to 12 steps to completely fix the problem….you really should stain the entire wall to match other existing walls. varnishing is up to you.
